Power Sourcing by Manufacturer

When Power Sourcing in NuVia uses a manufacturer name and manufacturer part number, you have visibility into items that match to your VIM and to AllSource Prime across all vendors. The Power Sourcing results by manufacturer include items that match the GHX manufacturer name and GHX manufacturer part number. Also, Power Sourcing uses proprietary match logic to find the most likely match to the GHX manufacturer name and GHX manufacturer part number (if an exact match to these fields is not found.) Power Sourcing by manufacturer provides matches to items across all of your facilities as well as matches across vendors and distributors for items that are currently in your Virtual Item Master.

  1. Click the Power Sourcing tab and upload a tab-delimited file with a manufacturer name and the manufacturer’s part number.
  2. Select how you want to Power Source – by Vendor Details or Manufacturer Details.

Note: GHX strongly suggests Power Sourcing by vendor as the default method. Power Sourcing by manufacturer may return multiple results for the same item (e.g. in the case of a distributed product sold by multiple vendors). Use Power Sourcing by manufacturer for a file of items sold exclusively through distribution, otherwise, GHX recommends using Power Sourcing vendor.

  3. Click Continue.
  4. Map the manufacturer name and manufacturer part number fields from your file to the appropriate fields.

  5. Click the Validate button.
  6. Select the checkbox next to the file you just uploaded.
  7. Click the Run Sourcing and Description Generation button.

  8. Download the output file after the file’s Job Status changes from Running to Completed.
