Effective Dates

The effective date controls when requests or changes will take effect (for example, when a business process will be available). Although the default effective date for new requests is the current date, you can adjust that date prior to submitting the request.

This date drives whether a business process on an account is available for transacting. If your trading partner submits a transaction prior to the effective date, the transaction will fail. Effective dates allow you to control current account settings and future changes.

Tip: The requesting party is the only trading partner who can manipulate the effective date. The approving party cannot adjust the effective date.

Because MetaTrade partners are not integrated on the Exchange, they do not require an approval process. Therefore, MetaTrade accounts will automatically be effective on the effective date.
