Similar Items

The Similar Items section lists suppliers who carry items similar to the primary item. This is useful if you cannot source the primary item from the original or an alternative supplier. GHX AI algorithms provide the suppliers that sell similar items in similar product brand names.

Important: These suppliers are not listed in any particular order. GHX does not endorse any particular supplier.

Navigation

The Similar Items section appears on the Item Details screen. To access this screen, select a Manufacturer Catalog Number or Supplier Catalog Number on the Backordered and At Risk screen or in the All Backordered Products section of the UNSPSC details, GHX Category details, or Supplier Details screens.

Field Descriptions

The following fields appear in the Similar Items section.

Field Field Description
Supplier Displays the supplier’s name.
Similar Item Market Share Indicates the level of similar item market share. This value reflects the volume of PO lines sent across the GHX Exchange to this supplier within the “neighborhood” of similar items within the past four weeks. In other words, a larger displayed market share for a supplier means that the market is sending a greater proportion of orders for similar items to that supplier.
Similar Item Coverage Indicates the level of similar item coverage. GHX uses a proprietary machine-learning algorithm to calculate item similarity. This value reflects the number of unique items within the set of similar items (or “neighborhood”) sold by this supplier across the GHX Exchange within the past four weeks. In other words, a supplier with a high score offers a higher proportion of items adjacent to the requested item relative to a supplier with a low coverage score.
Contract Status Displays the contract status.

Sample Brand Name(s)

Displays brand or trade names of items sold by a particular supplier that GHX has identified as similar to the requested item. They might be the same or different than the trade name associated with the requested product.
Contact Supplier

Select to view the main supplier representative’s contact details. The Contact Details window opens with the following information (as available):

  • Representative’s photo

  • Representative’s name

  • Supplier company name

  • Representative’s email address

This contact information helps expedite communication.
